Chrissy (FMC) is trying to survive day to day high school life by flying under the radar, she's smart, quirky (maybe a bit on the nerdy side) and has a hidden passion for k-pop and dance. Chrissy has a couple of really great friends and it's good she has them to lean on because the school mean girl has her sight set on her and has been giving her a hard time since Freshman year... what did she ever do to Page anyways?
Theo is at the other end of the popularity scale he is handsome, every girl in school has a crush on him (even Chrissy although she doesn't want to admit it). He is the life of the party and everyone is just naturally drawn to him, thing is he really doesn't care about that or his social status what he does care about is getting closer to Chrissy again when his family is stuck moving in with her family after a burst pipe in their new home... they were friends once when they were younger she used to be so carefree what happened?
Chrissy struggles with what many girls her age struggle with lower self esteem, and it doesn't help that Page has noticed Theo taking an interest in her... Page feels that Chrissy is so low on the social spectrum she's not even worth the effort she likes Theo and she's going after what she wants.
Chrissy has been hiding herself for so long when Theo comes back into her life and wants to bring her out in front will she continue to close herself off from everyone including Theo or will she finally take her turn to shine? Even though Theo and Chrissy don't look like they would work in anywhere but Chrissy's dreams... maybe it's time to take a chance on something big.

Thoughts on this book:
I thought this was a cute quick read, age appropriate for middle school/high schoolers who want to try a romance book. I loved Theo he was so sweet and I liked that he was willing to stand up for Chrissy even when she was pushing him away. Theo really helped Chrissy break out of her shell and see that she could be herself and encouraged her to not to care as much about what others think. Chrissy had a few really good friends and everyone needs at least a few people in their corner when they feel alone.
Chrissy struggled with bullies in school (including the latest mean girl) and anyone who has been bullied can relate to the internal struggles you face when dealing with these situations, I was bullied as a child and it's something that sticks with you, I can't even imagine how bad it is now with social media. It can really lower your self esteem and make you struggle with thoughts of self worth and not wanting to bring any more unwanted attention to yourself.
The book mentions current pop icons and I kind of wish that the author had made up some groups for these parts as in the future it will date the book to a certain time period, if things are kept vague it sometimes helps the book feel like it could be in your current time.
The book was shorter and there was a lot of repetitiveness with Chrissy's internal thoughts related to Theo being out of her "league" essentially since he was popular and she was not this got a bit old since it was every few pages.
