Wilder Horizons Book 3

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/243018011

Emme (FMC) works with her sisters for Wilder Horizons a company that provides luxury trips to the wealthy.  When she gets Voluntold by her sister that she needs to secure a partnership with some vendors in Patagonia she is less than thrilled… she’s going from the sunshine state to snow… she better pack extra layers… only when she gets where she’s going her luggage took a detour and the owner of the lodge is less than friendly.

Luc (MMC) likes his lodge in the middle of nowhere with minimal contact to the outside world… it’s part of the charm so when Emme bursts into his world with big plans for some more modern elements (like Wifi) he is less than thrilled.

But the longer she’s with him the more he can see how she takes charge but is willing to help, she’s a force and she has started to find her way through his cool outer shell.

The closer she gets to leaving the more he finds that he wants her to stay and when a few disasters strike during their time together will they be able to weather these storms together or will Emme be taking the first flight home.

This was another enjoyable read in this series I liked the banter and loved how both our characters were drawn to each other but were holding back for various reasons:  she's there for work not a whirlwind relationship with an expiration date,  he's had a big loss in his past and his lodge is his safety/comfort zone Emme disrupts his world in the best possible ways maybe he's been set in stone for too long focusing on the past, while it's 100% ok to take all the time you need to work through your feelings you also still have a life to live it was great to see Emme bring some joy back to his life that maybe had been missing for awhile.

It did take me a bit longer to get into this story maybe it was the long descriptions of the day to day tasks and landscapes. Using different languages scattered in also took me out of the story a bit at times because I was scanning for the English translation of what was said.  I also wasn't completely sure how much time had passed since she had been at his cabin but it was thrown into the story occasionally and I thought she had been there for a lot longer than she was, I guess I might be a bit cynical but I didn't see them completely falling for each other in the week (plus a few days) she had been there (even though they were together for some bigger events) making this more of an insta love story.

I have been truly enjoying this series and I look forward to the next book!

Rebecka Cole: Winterberry Inn

 https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/244622741-winterberry-inn

Holly is tired... tired of everyone wanting so much more from her than she's currently able to give, especially her own mom who has taken managing the holidays to a whole new level so when she's asked if she is bringing someone home for the holidays and told that there are going to be a festive awkward photo shoot in order to "boost" her online presence she decides to step out for some fresh air which involves getting in her car and driving far, far away from all of that nonsense... only on the drive away she ends up caught in a blizzard and quite possibly the most charming town she's ever seen in person... seriously did she land in a hallmark movie set?

Winterberry Inn is cozy, nearby and they have vacancy only not inside the Inn  (of course not) they do have a cottage in the back... great she'll take that thank you very much, except for Nick bursts in from the storm right when she's about to accept to attempt to stake a claim on the cottage that is rightfully hers... she did get there first.

The storm getting worse and with no other place to sleep Holly comes to an agreement with this stranger (lets hope he isn't a serial killer)... they are 100% not sharing a bed though...

Nick is in this small town for work and while the town is charming he's a -->get in, do his job and leave kind of guy never stopping long enough to settle down or leave a lasting impression on any one place, he is under a lot of pressure from his boss to get the job done no matter the consequences and that's usually who he is but he just met someone to throw his whole world view off kilter and she's sharing his space for the duration of this storm and the more he spends time with her the more he feels like maybe his life isn't going in the direction he wants it to maybe he needs something more stable.

This is a novella and usually the pacing can be hard since there is less time to tell the story but the author did a great job keeping the story line moving along and easy to follow.  You don't really get to know the characters really well but you get enough of an idea for the point of the story, I loved this feel good holiday romance it was a quick cozy read I was going to sit down and read a few chapters and ended up reading half the book in one sitting.  The lead characters are likeable and have you wanting to see them get a happy ending, I also enjoyed the side characters (like the meddling inn keeper).

I loved the hallmark vibes and I found myself wishing I could visit this charming town myself the author did a great job creating the holiday magic in a small town charm which kept me turning page after page.  Looking forward to the next book from this author!

Possible spoiler:

I do wish the epilogue was spaced a bit further in the future, it is set only about a week after the last chapter ends not giving much time for the couple to be together or for us to really see how things are going for them after leaving the small town.

Maggi Andersen: Ravished by the Rake

 Improper Ladies book 3

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/244254890-ravished-by-the-rake

Lady Prudence’s life gets turned upside down when her father is murdered in their home leading to her trying to unravel the mystery of why this happened along the way she enlists Jack (Viscount Hereford) to help à he is an agent for the crown, a rake and naturally determined to never fall in love or get married because women can only hurt you (he is dealing with some mom issues from childhood).

Shortly after Prudence faces her creepy cousin coming to take his new position as the Earl and insists that the best option for “everyone” is for them to get married… that’s a no from Prudence and she runs away from home in the middle of the night and again runs into Jack who escorts her safely to her Grandma’s home where she and Jack continue to try to piece together who could have wanted to harm her father.

This was a cozy quick read for me, I’ve been reading historical romance since I was a teenager so nothing really was new but I enjoyed the banter between our couple (when they were actually together) for a short story they spend a lot of time apart and  there unfortunately was not much ravishing.

FMC is a bit too independent for the time and often goes out on her own potentially getting herself into danger where Jack would need to rescue her.

This is a stand alone and I read this without reading the first two books, I didn't even realize it was the 3rd in the series until after I had finished the book, the characters from the first books make very brief appearances in the book but it's not necessary to read their books to read this book.

*ARC read 2025  *Netgalley *historical romance *mystery *handsome rake *quick read  *instalust  *interconnected stand alone *spy MMC *Fierce/feisty/independent FMC *happy ending *political issues  *banter

*grief (loss of father)  *abduction

possible spoilers:

I felt the ending wrapped up really quickly a lot of the book feels like the characters aren't really doing much of anything to move the story along... then in the last 15% some older mysteries come into play and our leads are discussing love when they really didn't even have all that much time together there is a lot of inner monologue where you can see that they "like" each other but I had always felt it was more lust than love next thing you know they are all in immediately after both having feelings of never wanting to marry throughout a good portion of the book just seemed sudden to me and after the build up (sort of) with the villain the end feels kind of like an after thought.

Rachel Anthony: Poke Check

Skate Me Home Series book 3

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/241700198-poke-check

I was so happy to see these two get their own book!  From reading the second book there are teasers of these two together and I wanted to read more of their story you could tell it was going to be some kind of enemies to more situation and I'm here for it.  Also I love hockey romance throw in a tall, handsome, grumpy goalie yes please!

Naomi is small but mighty she's hard working and frequently goes above and beyond to get the job done for her marketing firm and when given the opportunity to work for the Whalers Hockey team she wants to prove that she has what it takes to be noticed... but after a long day and arriving late a girls got to eat and that's where she runs into big problems when this hot, obnoxious man just comes in and takes the sandwiches she was about to buy... seriously she got there first!

Garrett Tall is laser focused on his goals, he's an amazing goalie on his own but he can't let anything go to chance he is making it to the NHL and has to stick to all of his pre-game rituals no matter how weird they seem... these rituals do not include a beautiful but feisty red-head that came into his life as part of the marketing team for his current team... but the more he sees of her the more he can't get her off of his mind... she could possibly be dangerous for his game, or maybe she's the best thing that's ever happened to it.

Naomi thinks there is a lot of things ridiculous about "Tall" his smug handsome face being one of them but when she touches his stick and he gets on a winning streak he requests her to become a new part of his pre-game routine and she's having a harder time saying no.

This was a cute quick read with a lot of witty banter that had several laugh out loud moments for me.  I loved Garrett and Naomi together and even though it's a novella it felt like things happened naturally between our couple instead of everything being thrown together and rushed.  Garrett and Naomi have a similar approach to relationship in that they are bad with sharing/expressing feelings so when the wrong things are said at the wrong time will this be the end for our couple before their relationship even gets started?

I loved the interactions with the team mates and I can't wait for the next book in the series!  If you are in your Hockey era this is another good one to grab.

ARC opportunities December 19, 2025

If you are looking for a new author/your next read consider being an ARC reader/reviewer I have been doing a lot of ARC reads this year and finding a lot of new to me authors with amazing books that don't always get the hype that the more popular authors get.

Leaving reviews matter especially for Indie authors the more reviews that a book has the more it gets shown to others as an option to read.

Thank you for supporting Indie Authors 💓

If you are an author with an upcoming ARC opportunity and want me to place it in my next ARC opportunities blog post let me know!

I've added good reads links for if you are interested in the book but can't commit to the ARC read and review timelines.   These ARC opportunities were taken from the authors original posts.

Please let me know if you end up signing up for any of these and what you think of them!  Would love to hear back and I'm always adding to my TBR.

*I try to not submit duplicates from week to week but I have been doing the arc opportunities post for a few months now and I'm sure that a duplicate might slip in from time to time.

I died a queen’s death—betrayed by the king I loved.

Cedric was my mate, my king, my choice. I stood by his side through war, blood, and lies. And when I finally defied him in an attempt to stop him from slaughtering innocents, he drove a blade through my heart.

I thought that was the end. Until, somehow, I woke up five years in the past, on the day I’d chosen him.

This time, I won’t.

Instead, I bind myself to Azrael, the Northern Lycan King. A man the South calls a monster. A savage beast forged in frost and cruelty. In my old life, he used to be feared for his ruthlessness, but unlike my former mate, he hadn’t killed me.

And right now, he’s the only one who might stand a chance against Cedric.

I never meant to get involved with another lycan royal. Only to survive. I may have died for a king once, but I won’t bow to one again. Yet as war builds and my past claws at my heels, I feel the faintest stirrings of something I hadn’t thought trust.

I’ve been given a second chance, and this time, I’ll take Cedric down before I ever let him take me again—even if it means falling for a king who might be worse than the first.

Poppy Sullivan can rebuild a carburetor before her morning coffee, but dealing with feelings? Absolutely not. She is raising her eleven-year-old brother, running Murphy’s Auto Body, and giving her best “I totally have my life together” smile. The only thing keeping her from unraveling is the hot firefighter who lives above her shop and happens to be her best friend.

Ollie Kendrick has been in love with Poppy since they were sixteen. The entire town of Bridger Falls knows it, even the mailman knows it. Walker at The Black Dog definitely knows it and isn't subtle about it, because he has a pool going with the town on when they'll finally get together. But Poppy? She still thinks Ollie's just being “nice.”

When a surprise baby shows up in Ollie’s life, suddenly the three of them become four… maybe even a real family. Midnight feedings, shirtless bottle-warming, family bonding, small town meddling become a new normal. Bridger Falls is going feral with excitement. It’s chaos, hilarious, and it might just be true love.

Because somewhere between broken engines and broken sleep schedules, Poppy starts to see it.
This man isn’t here out of pity or convenience. He’s here because he chooses her.

Everyone else saw it first. It was never just friendship. Never just roommates with accidental kids involved.

It was always you.

He’d already targeted Persephone more than once, but as the Divine Detective Agency begins to investigate the kidnapping of the Goddess of Spring, things aren’t adding up. Magical signatures strong enough to distort security cameras and magic stronger than most demigods have, and Alexandros not being seen since his attack in Athens during the wintertime…

Which begged the question, which god kidnapped Persephone, or who had gifted someone a relic strong enough to imitate a god's magic?

As more clues are revealed, Hades, with the Goddess of witchcraft, Hecate, tracks down Persephone’s kidnapper and rescue the goddess of spring from her kidnapper's clutches; they realize how far the seeds of discontent sown by Alexandros have spread, and the King of the Dead will stop at nothing for retribution against the god or gods responsible.

Adrianne
I’m trapped in a place I don’t recognize.

Taken, right between the min entrée and dessert at my sister’s wedding.

They keep calling me by her name. Calling me a princess. That word was as foreign to me as the place I was now looked up in.

There’s a lazy slur in their speech when. Elongated and overly pronounced Rs let me know my captors are not American.

“Nasdrovie,” I hear them say throughout the night until the darkness swallows them and their foreign accents. I don’t let it swallow me, though.

June,

I've loved Marcus Miller for as long as I can remember-
My best friend's older brother.
Grumpy, emotionally unavailable, and quite possibly the most devastatingly handsome man alive.
The problem? I don't think he even noticed I existed.
And when he finally did¿
I'm pretty sure he fell in hate with me.
He flinched when I got too close. He scowled when I smiled.
But I saw it-the way his eyes darkened when I laughed.
He could deny it all he wanted, but I wasn't the only one falling.

MARCUS

To the world, I was the perfect man-
Powerful. Wealthy. Desired. Untouchable.
But I was a man made of scars.
Touch repulsed me. Emotion unnerved me.
I'd built walls no one could break-until her.
One touch from her, and everything shattered.
She made me feel alive. That terrified me.
I didn't want to need her. I didn't want to crave her.
But I did. And I hated it.

I hated the way she slipped under my skin.
I hated the way she made me want things I couldn't afford to feel.
Most of all, I hated that I didn't hate her at all.

Because once you've touched heaven, it's impossible to pretend you're fine in hell

Kalithea returns to Varis scarred but unbroken—
a queen without a crown, wielding a power no longer willing to sleep. Peace is a fragile mirage, and every step toward control cuts deeper than the last.

But when a ghost from her past steps out of ruin, her path becomes brutally clear:
she must march into enemy-held lands, free the cities that fell to darkness, and drag the architect of her suffering into the light.

With each stronghold reclaimed, her legend spreads—
But kings are watching. Monsters are moving.

And the world is beginning to choose sides.

She’s the one high he can’t stop chasing.

She’s an addiction—one I thought I’d overcome. Then my band hires her as the PR manager and invites her on our first headlining tour. Two years ago I couldn’t have fathomed Loose Threads being big enough to sell out venues and have fans lining up around the building. Sounds like bliss, right? Wrong. Not when I’m sharing a bus with the one person who never really left my system. Sixteen weeks of gigs and groupies should be enough to keep me distracted. But avoiding her is impossible when she’s everywhere. Her laugh lingers, her smile lights up the dark corners of my soul, and the memory of her touch still haunts me. Sneaking into her hotel room was supposed to curb my cravings, but one hit of her and I’m hooked all over again. Chasing the high that makes me feel most alive amid the loneliness of the road.

When the walls I’ve built start to crumble around me, Ellie’s there to pick up the pieces. Letting her in might save me…or it could destroy us both.

Getting talked into returning home for the holidays Thanksgiving and then again on Christmas she has time to re-think her life choices while she continues to run into her high school rival Asher... it's not fair that he's so handsome... he and his friends made her senior year a nightmare and it's coming back to the surface being around him more, but maybe he's not as bad as he originally seemed when she gets stuck working on a holiday project with her nemesis sparks start to fly and just maybe she wants to see him after their project ends.

Melissa begins to let down her walls and actually enjoy her time in her home town but did she drop her guard too soon?  Asher is holding something big back from her and keeps changing the topic when she tries to bring it up can they truly make a real relationship work or is this just a holiday fling?

This book was full of heart and humor I truly enjoyed this holiday romance it reminded me of a hallmark romance in all the best ways.  I loved the side characters and there were some really great moments of growth where our FMC leaned into harder conversations to move forward in her relationships.

Asher really proves throughout the book that he's not the same teenage boy who made poor decisions when it came to Melissa and I was rooting for them to end up together.

I enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to the next in the series!

Alexandra Vasti: The Halifax Hellions

 ARC read from Netgalley: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/231127275-the-halifax-hellions

The Book is divided into two sections the first half of the story is called:  "In Which Margo Earns Her Shocking Reputation" where the story focuses on one twin (Margo) and how she feels that she did something terrible (even for her since she is considered to be a hoyden by society standards and her and her sister are constantly getting into mischief).  Margo feels that she pushed her twin sister Matilda into running off and eloping with an older man and wants to stop her from making a huge mistake.

Margo will go on her own if she has to but her older brother is out of town and even if he wasn't she doesn't want to worry their brother... she can handle this... She enlists his best friend Henry (a lawyer) who has been not so secretly in love with Margo since the moment he saw her tying a cherry stem in a knot ages ago (pretty much everyone can see that he's got hearts in his eyes for her but Margo).

When Margo shows up at Henry's home by herself in the middle of the night and he sends her away he knows that it's the wrong move because he can't have the woman he's loved forever going on this mission by herself any number of things could happen to her... at least if he's with her he can protect her.  But is this a fools errand Matilda and her husband to be could already be well on their way to Scotland by now and who knows if they will even catch them.

Margo finds herself noticing things about Henry she's never noticed before on their trip together and when their carriage breaks down and they have to stay together in a cottage alone their relationship could change forever... When they catch up with Matilda will Margo's budding relationship with Henry end?

Thoughts on this half of the book: It was just ok for me, there was heavier spice and not really as much of a story everything happened too quick and I felt that there could have been more done with the friends-> more, Brothers best friend trope than what happened especially since he's been in love with her forever.  The story weaves into Matilda's story at the end and when they catch up Margo has a moment of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.  I thought Henry was really sweet and maybe just the right guy to help settle Margo's wild ways.  Since this couple have known each other so long it was more like an insta lust/instalove situation since our guy was already in love.  I'm not sure how historically accurate it was but it was a quick entertaining read.

Tropes:  *Twin Sisters  *Brother's Best Friend *solicitor MMC  *difference in social status

*novella *she's more experienced *FMC Fierce, independent and feisty *instalust/instalove

2nd Half:  In Which Matilda Halifax Learns the Value of Restraint:

Christian (6th Marquess of Ashford) has a bad reputation there have been rumors of many things including whispers that he was responsible for his wife's death... he has not killed anyone, there are also rumors of his habits in the bedroom which have reached the attention of one of the Halifax hellions... Matilda.

Matilda is secretly an artist for a scandalous publication and when our leads meet it's because it has come to the attention of the Marquess that his likeness has been displayed in these crude manuals he is less than thrilled he has been trying to clean up his reputation mainly by staying far away from the ton and society events to give time for his reputation to get back in order he doesn't need this on top of the other rumors he is responsible for his younger sister and she is to make her come out soon these set backs are a disaster... and now her painting instructor has run off because she is not willing to be around him and his poor reputation.

Matilda has been admiring Christian from afar for awhile now and maybe her artwork did go towards his likeness... but she left things vague so that no one could really know for sure if it was supposed to be him... except for now that it's published some extra details have been added to the artwork to make it unmistakable for Ashford and when he confronts her about his situation with his sister needing a painting instructor she decides to step in to help... he wants nothing to do with this plan for her to step in as his sisters painting instructor only she is persuasive and he just can't stop thinking about her how did she so quickly get into his every thought?

Soon they are on their way to his estate far away from London and her life there she leaves a letter to her sister saying they are eloping (which they aren't but she didn't want them followed)... over their trip it becomes harder for them to deny their growing feelings towards each other but our MMC is showing restraint he doesn't want to have a repeat of his first marriage and he is kind of upset that he already likes Matilda so much... but what will happen when they reach their destination?

Thoughts on this book:  I enjoyed this book more than Margo's half I did appreciate the brief overlap so from the first to second half of the book so you could see things from Matilda's side.  I felt that this story since it was longer had more time to develop naturally.  There is less spice in this book and while there is discussions about Ashford's bedroom activities they are relatively tame with less spice than the first half of the book.

Matilda is another independent, fierce FMC and Ashford met his match!  This book had that tension where you want them to just get together already -->  SLOW BURN.  To keep with the first half I'm not sure how historically accurate this was but it was a cute, quick read.

Tropes:  age gap (older MMC); Twin sister; artist (FMC); protective MMC; novella; historical romance; fake relationship/elopement; grumpy MMC; one bed due to an unfortunate situation with a dirty stray cat and a bathtub ; slow burn; strangers -> more; banter; enemies à more; Vegetarian FMC

Consensual bdsm (nothing extremely graphic, spanking, some restraint, etc), references to past sexual assault, infidelity and death of spouse

ARC opportunities December 12, 2025 -->forgot to post

Catalina Arismendi knows better than to fall for a player—especially one like Rogue Gallagher.
Grumpy, gorgeous, and ridiculously talented, the team’s star goalkeeper is ten years older, completely off-limits, and entirely out of her league.
He’s moody, mysterious, her total opposite, and somehow, the one man she can’t stop thinking about.
But Rogue isn’t the only one invading her thoughts.
Late-night messages with a stranger on a faceless dating app have Cat hooked—sweet,
attentive, and dangerously easy to fall for, he sees her in a way no one else ever has.
Now, Cat’s stuck between two
The fantasy she’s falling for fast...
And the broody, real-life goalkeeper who might just wreck her—or be the one thing worth the risk.
An age-gap, grumpy/sunshine sports romance full of secret longing, anonymous tension,
and the slowest of slow burns, The Keeper will have you falling hard—maybe for more than one guy.

Lover? Liar? Or me and my kingdom’s doom?

On the eve of my execution, I sealed my fate by signing a dark pact with Ilyatria's accursed king. My reprieve was short-lived; now I’m in a race against time, rotting from the inside out due to a hidden clause. To end the pact, I have to kill my father—the monster who ordered my death. But our kingdom’s twisted magic protects him, and I’ll need an undying dragon’s power to do it.

Yet every hour has me sickening further; I can’t bond a merciless dragon alone. With no other options, I turn to Aelen, one of my people’s enemies and the strongest dragon trainer of Ilyatria—or so he says. He’s brooding and spiteful, armed with sharp ears and a venomous tongue almost more vicious than the dragons themselves.

Despite our truce, he’s a constant thorn in my side, even sabotaging my training. He’s insufferable—and all too irresistible—but without him I’m dead.

My protector. My nightmare.

He’s more than he’s letting an enigma hiding sinister magic and a fixation on keeping me with him, and away from completing my pact. The further our lives intertwine, the more his lies unravel.

And the more his dark obsession grows.

Bitter King Vicious Wings is a steamy dark romantasy standalone with a guaranteed HEA. Perfect for fans of Harper L. Woods, Ella Fields, and Raven Kennedy.

The deal was simple.
Marry the cowboy.
Pretend to be in love.
Go our separate ways when the twelve months are up.
What could possibly go wrong?

I’ve spent the last year simply trying to survive but the massive amount of debt to my name and a bar on the brink of collapse, I’m quickly running out of options.
The last thing I expect is to be offered an out by Sunstone Ridge's most eligible bachelor.
Roman Knight is small town royalty.
Rich.
Powerful.
Untouchable.
And as desperate as I am. He needs a wife, and I need money, what could possibly go wrong by making a deal to marry the cowboy with his own reasons to never fall in love?
It’s only twelve months; we both get what we need from it and at the end, we go our separate ways.
We both swear this thing is temporary and I told myself I could get through it, that I wouldn’t fall in love, but the more time I spend on the ranch and with him, the more Roman starts to knock down my carefully constructed walls.
But the foundations we’re balancing on are delicate and getting close to him comes with risks.
One thing I know for sure though, is that secrets don’t stay buried, and when ghosts from Roman’s past come back to haunt him, it’s me who gets caught in the crossfire.

Say You Need Me is book 1 in the Knight Falls Ranch series, a set of three books that can be read as standalones.

When Brianna Hart, the devoted baker of Pine Hollow, learns her beloved shop may be forced to close just days before Christmas, her world begins to wobble like a collapsed soufflé. The bakery isn’t just her livelihood. It’s her sanctuary, her routine, and the heart of the snowy Highland village she’s always called home.

Then Oliver Grant arrives. A meticulous London solicitor tasked with sorting out the estate his late grandfather left behind, including several Pine Hollow properties… one of which happens to be Brianna’s bakery. Focused and determined to honour his grandfather’s wishes, Oliver plans to settle things quickly. He certainly doesn’t expect to be charmed by twinkling lights, pine forests, or warm-hearted villagers who thrive on gossip.

But Pine Hollow has a way of surprising people.

After the town knitting club spots Brianna and Oliver talking at the Christmas Winter Wonderland, rumours spread faster than a storm over the mountains. Overnight, the whole village is convinced they’re secretly courting. Brianna tries to deny it. Oliver awkwardly dodges it. But Pine Hollow has never met a rumour it couldn’t nurture.

Yet as they keep crossing paths, sharing quiet moments, unexpected laughter, and soft confessions beneath falling snow. Neither can ignore the connection simmering between them. While Brianna fights to save her bakery, Oliver begins questioning the life he left behind… and discovering pieces of himself he never knew were missing.

With Christmas approaching and the fate of both the bakery and their hearts on the line, Brianna and Oliver must decide whether the whispers around town are only holiday gossip… or the beginning of something real, magical, and worth holding onto.

Sometimes the best things in life aren’t found in contracts. They’re baked, shared, and stolen under the mistletoe.
