If you are well into your holiday reads (or just getting started with them) this is a quick read that I picked up it's available on Kindle Unlimited and the first day I was going to read like 2-3 chapters and ended up reading 7.
Holly (FMC) is a postal worker since she is from a military family and most recently her parents have decided to travel instead of spend time together for the holidays she has gotten used to spending her holidays alone. This year she isn't fully alone she has her feisty friend Tina along for the ride. While going through the mail she finds a letter that is in the dead mail pile and decides to do her job (even if it was intended to be delivered ages ago) it's in a child's hand writing and to Santa so the plan is to find the original writer and return this gem.
Holly and Tina get more than they originally planned for going on a bit of a where's Waldo (Nick) hunt to find the letter writer but he is still in town which is amazing with as old as the letter is. Nick Claus is living out whatever the opposite of a hallmark movie is... he's sick of the holiday season already and Christmas isn't even here yet it is tomorrow but since losing his job and still living in this awful apartment his life can't get much worse... or can it after drinking too much losing a fight to an inflatable yard decoration and getting arrested for public urination... seriously did he mention he hates the holiday season?
Holly against better judgement decides to bail Nick the stranger out even though it costs a bit more than expected it leads to an unexpected fling. Could Holly be just what Nick needs to get himself back in the holiday spirit?
Holly sees Nick at his lowest moment and wants to help but is he worth the effort? Or is he just a bad boy that she should have left where she found him?
I really enjoyed this quick read it was funny and full of heartfelt moments, I enjoyed the side characters and I'm hoping for Tina to get a book of her own.
