Book Blurb:
Does Cupid have a nice list? Never mind. Forget it. I’m breaking up with Valentine’s Day.
It started innocently enough with a harmless inquiry about a cute guy at a coffee shop. The goal was to get back in the romance game. The search turned into a social media frenzy. #DesperatelySeekingDane was not available. Talk about a buzzkill.
Just when I thought things couldn’t become more dramatic, because of my five minutes of online fame, a TV production company reached out to me as a last-minute contestant in a dating contest. It was an instant yes because one of the three bachelors is a major movie star and my lifelong crush.
Here's the I’m matched with the third-place prize, a daredevil hockey player I can't stand. Let’s just say we have a brief but storied history involving shrill whistles, spilled coffee, and a bloody incident in an elevator.
However, turns out the date is only the opening act. We end up in each other’s debt, resulting in a meet-the-parents situation. But we kind of hit it off. As things heat up between us, sparks fly and the ice begins to melt. Can I be falling for the guy I loathe?

Thoughts:
Delaney (FMC) has decided she's done with romance & love and everything that goes along with it her ex-boyfriend dumped her last year on Valentine's day and thinking she should put herself out there again she ended up in a viral social media campaign to track down the cute guy that was in line ahead of her getting coffee... the effort was not worth it since he was already engaged to someone else, now not trusting cupid she's done with love... Until...
A production company reaches out to cast her as a last minute "girl next door" contestant in a reality dating show competition... she can't turn it down because one of the three male contestants is her long time hollywood crush... can you imagine if they ended up selected to go on the date together?
Only once she gets to the show she ends up finding out that one of the male contestants is the arrogant Hockey star that she has already unfortunately run into a few times before now... he's just everywhere she is now that he was transferred to her home team in Nebraska.
Hayden while he is hot tempered on the ice, he is truly a good guy he is just working thru some issues after losing his brother unexpectedly in the line of duty (he was a police officer) and maybe taking one too many thrill seeking outings he is in need of a image revamp... his agent gets him a spot on this dating show to prove to the world that he can settle down if he has the right person by his side. He is also a great big brother to his younger sister who has Cerebral Palsy he has to look out for her, their mom is obsessed with wealth and status and so is her finance husband.
Hayden and Delaney continue to clash but it makes for great chemistry on screen and they end up voted together... This can't be right Delaney was meant to match with the movie star and now she is stuck with the hot head, Hockey player... disaster waiting to happen.
Hayden is really sweet and patient with Delaney as they both work on figuring out that maybe they don't dislike each other that much after all... there is a fine line between love and hate after all.
Likes:
Cute, fast paced, hallmark style hockey romance, this would be good if you are looking for a cozy read with low stakes and a guaranteed happy ending.
Neutral: This was very cutesy and over the top cheesy at times, I went with it knowing it was just that type of story.
Dislikes:
Story was short but on the repetitive side and I wasn't a fan of how Delaney was treating Hayden some of the time, he wasn't a bad guy and she came off a bit on the agressive side with him.
Due to the fast paced and shorter length in the book there wasn't a lot of time for character growth and development and sometimes the characters seemed on the immature side.
FMC to me was just kind of annoying at times, girl I want you to get your happy ending but you are getting in your own way with your behavior.
Have you read this one? What did you think?
